Born out of a 19th century tea planters bungalow, Glenross Living – a sister hotel to Water Garden Sigiriya – offers a collection of exceptionally spacious villas and suites in a serene yet easily accessible part of the island. Tea planters’ bungalows are commonly found at high elevations, yet this sensitively restored house, surrounded by mature tropical gardens, is only 40 minutes from west coast Kalutara. The main house dates back to 1876 and preserves many original features including graceful arched ceilings and period furniture. It’s home to a restaurant, living room and a well-stocked bar. The main swimming pool shares in the lush valley views.
