If your clients are keen on privacy and exclusivity but still love the convenience of staying within a hotel, this itinerary is for them. For this trip, we have picked out hotels with freestanding villa rooms, some of which have their own pools for the ultimate indulgence.
At Wallawwa, stay in the Mountbatten Suite, which has two bedrooms and its own pool. Every room at Water Garden – Sigiriya is freestanding, and over half have pools. The bungalows at Gal Oya Lodge are all surrounded by forest (and a few may have plunge pools by late 2025!). Nine Skies has a very large suite which is spacious and private. Near Galle, Kahanda Kanda’s 12 rooms are nearly all freestanding, and seven of them now have private pools and gardens (more pool villas will be constructed in 2025).
If your clients are visiting between April and September, they could remove Galle and add Kalkudah Beach House on the east coast between Water Garden – Sigiriya and Gal Oya Lodge. Although there are no freestanding rooms, there is a beautiful upstairs master suite.
