Eleanor has over 20 years’ experience working in the travel industry. Her career began in London, in the marketing department of Swan Hellenic Cruises (P&O), after which she moved to Cox & Kings UK to take on the role of Business Development Manager. Seven years later, Eleanor relocated to Edinburgh to work as Head of European Sales and Marketing at Cox & Kings India and then, after three years, joined Dream Escape, a high-end incoming Destination Management Company for Scotland, as Head of Marketing.
In early 2013, Eleanor moved to Sri Lanka with her young daughter and began working as Head of Marketing at the high-end inbound tour operator Sri Lanka in Style. In June 2014, Eleanor moved back to Edinburgh and set up The Sri Lanka Collection.
Through work and for pleasure, Eleanor has been lucky enough to have travelled extensively throughout Sri Lanka and across Asia.

Emma is an experienced freelance writer who first came to Sri Lanka in 2003 after a year spent writing her way around the world. She has travelled Sri Lanka extensively and written travel features for a variety of publications including Guardian Travel, Suitcase and Condé Nast Traveller. She is the Sri Lanka hotel expert for The Telegraph, and has reviewed numerous hotels and villas in Sri Lanka (as well as in Thailand, India, The Maldives, Bali and Spain) for boutique travel companies including Mr and Mrs Smith, i-escape.com, The Villa Guide and Elite Havens.
Emma is the author of Culture Smart! Sri Lanka, co-author of the 2011 Asia Villa Guide and contributor to many Rough Guides titles including Sri Lanka, Australia, Southeast Asia, India and Cambodia.
Despite her globetrotting, Emma is most passionate about Sri Lanka. For The Sri Lanka Collection, Emma shares her way with words and her extensive Sri Lankan expertise.
Kate has worked in the travel industry for 19 years. In the early years she worked for luxury ski companies both in the Alps and the UK, before moving to Excursions Ltd to handle top end cruise shore excursions worldwide. In 2005 she relocated to Edinburgh to set up the Excursions Ltd Scotland office as Director, expanding the business over four years to show a 664% growth in operations and 367% growth in profit, overseeing offices in both Edinburgh and Orkney. Kate was a founder member of the Cruise Scotland marketing group.
Since starting a family, Kate has helped found and run the highly successful Tour de Force charitable cycling event, seeing a 50% increase in participation and fundraising over three years. She’s travelled extensively throughout her career for work and pleasure with a particular emphasis on and love for Asia.
