Meander through Sri Lanka on this relaxing trail that takes in the historic capital of Kandy and its many cultural sites before ascending into the hills for spectacular views and walks in two distinct destinations. The first is Goatfell, a 30-minute drive from former Hill Station Nuwara Eliya, and the second location is Camellia Hills, overlooking the Castlereagh Reservoir. Travel between them by rail for the best regional views. The holiday ends on a stunning west coast beach in or near the popular coastal resort of Bentota (perfect for visiting Lunuganga garden).
An alternative would be to spend the last four nights at KK Beach, near Habaraduwa, Galle OR at The Last House, near Tangalle
Highlights:
- Catching up and relaxing for the first night at a beautiful garden-wrapped former Manor House near the airport
- travelling to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital, to stay in another ancestral abode a short drive from Kandy
- Meandering through the hills on the nostalgic Hill Country railway line, with spectacular views at every turn
- Soaking up the cooler climate of the hills, the panoramic views, tea factory visits and variety of walking trails
- Picnicking in scenic hilltop viewpoints, swimming in secluded waterfalls and relaxing in bungalow-style hotels
- Spending the last few days on the sunset coast near Bentota at a choice of striking boutique beach-facing hotels

Days 2, 3 & 4: The Kandy House, Kandy
Days 5, 6 & 7: Goatfell, Kandapola, near Nuwara Eliya
Days 8, 9 & 10: Camellia Hills, Castlereagh Reservoir, near Hatton
Days 11, 12, 13 & 14: The Villa Bentota, near Bentota OR Kumu Beach, Balapitiya, near Bentota
